Phuket is surrounded by a lot of islands, for the main part
uninhabited. Some of them became world famous tourism destinations:
Phi Phi Islands for a relaxing and out of time vacation (there
are no cars on Phi Phi Don Island) or the Similan Islands
which are among the 10 best scuba diving spots in the world.
Island hopping is a wonderful activity while spending holiday
in Phuket. The islands presented in this section are reachable
by a short boat trip: the closer one being Coral Island, which
you can see from Rawai Beach at approximatively 300 meters,
and the further ones are the Similan Islands (90 Km north
east of Phuket.)
We displayed the Phang Nga Bay in the island section though
it could have an entire section for itself. An amazing seascape
made of limestone rocks coming out from the dark green waters
and reaching several dozens of meters which hide secret lagoons
surrounded by rock and vegetation where numerous species of
birds, mammals and reptiles live in a protected environment.
